Discovering Restorative Justice: Strategies for Change. The Irish example.

It is a project that aims to promote the development of Restorative Justice in Europe.

Restorative Justice: Strategies for Change is already established in ten countries, where a core group of four persons the ‘Core Members’ – are collaborating with domestic policymakers, practitioners, researchers, activists and other interested parties – the ‘Stakeholder Group’ – to co-create national strategies to guide their work.

The Irish partners maintain an interesting website to share their activities: https://restorativejustice.ie/

Recently they have published some infographics that illustrate the methodology and benefits of Restorative Justice.

One of them, titled Let’s talk about Restorative Justice, reveals the following statistics based in a study with youth cautions in Ireland:
- Victims participated in 73% of cases with an identified victim
- 93% of victims and 94% of young people were satisfied with the process.
